mustang grande sale
SFDriver asked:

I was driving in my neighborhood and came across a 1972 Mustang Grande with a for sale sign. I called the owner on a whim and took it for a test drive. Anybody ever drive one? Is it a decent car? This one needs some TLC on both engine and interior, but seems to be in decent shape (certainly driveable) and they are only asking $2500. This would be a second car – for weekends and kicking around, like a new toy. I have no mechanical background whatsover, but think this could be a fun project. Thoughts on this?

  • $2500 Is a okay. It really depends on the ondition but how you put it it sounds a little fair try bring the price down to maybe $2200 cause if you want to work on this car its going to be a little pricy.

  • It runs, drives decent and is only $2500.00?? Try and talk him down a little, but otherwise “Hell, Yes!!!”

  • I prefer 60′s mustangs, but if it floats your boat – then go for it!

  • the next to last year of the classic Mustang, if it was a fastback it would be great, but the coupes are not as popular, but there are a few people that love them, just don’t get to much invested in it, you may have trouble getting your money back.

Yes, I have a 69 with 351W, FMX automatic. If you watch prices, the 71-73 Mustangs are starting to increase in value. A little investment could easily return a good investment in years to come. Also on a side note, get Hagerty’s classic car insurance. I pay 140.00 a year for full coverage and am allowed 8000 miles a year. Another reason to buy a old car!
